About The Role
The Garage is looking for an experienced UX lead, who creates great user experiences and products, initiates collaboration between clients and the team and helps grow the UX team. We are looking for a very social, highly engaged and experienced designer to lead the design team of the Garage. You take a central role in the delivery of projects and are responsible for the quality, creativity and delivery of the projects you are overseeing, as well as the revenue generated on these projects and both client - and team satisfaction.
In this role you will
- Help shape and execute the design vision and strategy of the Garage
- Initiate and lead awesome projects - you define the UX strategy.
- Facilitate interactive sessions, design sprints and co-creation sessions internally and with clients
- Coach and mentor a team of designers with diverse backgrounds, by providing creative direction and constructive feedback
- Contribute to a open culture where people are encouraged to develop, sometimes fail and always learn
What you’ll bring
You have a tangible passion for design and user insight, as well as the technology and trends shaping it. You are experienced at working in diverse, multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-changing environment. A quick-thinker with a hands-on approach to get things done. You are an expert in your field and ready to take on this role with mentor-like responsibilities to help designers grow. You apply structure and steer to a clear process, so that every project can be a success. You are not shy to raise your voice and ask critical questions to bring the team closer to the desired outcome. You are also comfortable with leading UX design reviews and design critics.
For the role of UX Lead you also have
- 12+ years of experience in UX design and/or product design for digital products and services, with 2+ years in a leading position
- Experience with working for both corporations and agencies, specifically in digital product development
- Experience with working in lean start-up or agile product development
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to articulate complex solutions clearly
- A solid understanding of user-centered design principles, design thinking and design systems
- Fluent proficiency with design tools and prototyping, in any case Sketch and Figma
- Advanced Dutch and English proficiency, both written and spoken is essential for this role
